Celebrating Learners at Kumon
Ceremonies held across New Zealand for Kumon students
The final two months of the year have been full of celebrating student milestones at events across Australia and New Zealand.
During November, Advanced Student Forum events were held in major capital cities. Students were invited for studying five or more years above their school grade level or for completing a Kumon Programme.
Each event featured a key note address by some truly inspirational people including adventurers Dr Nikki Bart and Tim Cope, maths ambassador Lily Serna and representatives from the world changing Thankyou movement.
Cedric attended the event in Sydney for being an English Programme Completer and for studying more than five years ahead in both English and Maths. The highlight for him was hearing from adventurer, Dr Nikki Bart. “I love coming to the events and hearing the stories of the speakers,” he said, “I want to keep coming back even after I finish Kumon!”
Fidella (pictured), a student who was recognised at the Auckland Forum for her exceptional achievements in the Kumon Maths Programme, said she was inspired by being surrounded by other high achieving students. “It was amazing to see so many other students doing so well and hearing from the speaker from Thankyou really made me want to help people,” she said.

Individual Kumon Centres also celebrated the achievements of students at their own award ceremonies. With a theme of ‘Challenge Yourself’, students were encouraged to think about everything they achieved in 2015 and how they will overcome challenges and amaze themselves in 2016.
We thank all the families who studied Kumon in 2015 and we look forward to setting and meeting new goals with many more families in 2016.
