1. This Privacy policy sets out how Kumon (Australia) Pty Limited, its employees, franchisees, overseas related entities and agents (Kumon) obtain, use and disclose your Personal Information (as defined in the Privacy Act 2020), including through our website and social media. In order to provide our tutoring services, we need to collect this Personal Information. We are bound by the 13 Information Privacy Principles established under the Privacy Act 2020. Protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your Personal Information is fundamental to the way that we do business. The parent or guardian (You) consent to the following:

- Name.
- Date of birth.
- Gender.
- School year of the child.
- Contact details.
- Address
- Credit card details when You make payment.
- Information regarding the subjects your child is interested in/would like to be tutored in.
- Information contained in the Student Enrolment form.
3. Ways in which we collect your personal information:
- When disclosed to us by You.
- When You sign up to any Kumon centre and provide the information in your enrolment form.
- When You provide information such as credit card information.
- When You provide us authority to use a photo of your child and we note a separate privacy form must be completed by You before We are permitted to post any photos.
- Through analysis of social media and when You visit our social media sites including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, google+. You acknowledge that when You visit any social media sites You are subject to the terms and conditions of that site, including privacy disclosures.
- When You visit our website.
- When You complete the Student Enrolment Form.
4. You consent to the Personal Information and that of your child to be used in accordance with the Privacy Policy by any one or more of the following:
- Administering the Kumon centre;
- Monitoring and improving the performance of the students and the Kumon centre;
- Developing and improving the Kumon learning materials and instructional methods for use domestically and internationally;
- Providing training to employees of the Kumon Institute of Education Co., Ltd. of Japan and its direct and indirect subsidiaries, and instructors of Kumon study centres domestically and internationally;
- Opening, managing, and developing Kumon study centres domestically and internationally;
- providing training to franchisees; and
- Any other purposes the student’s parent/guardian has been given notice of in the Student Enrolment Form.
5. Your personal information may only be disclosed to:
- The person to whom the personal information relates;
- Kumon’s overseas related entities including, but not limited to Kumon Institute of Education Co., Ltd, located in Japan, and its local and global affiliates and licensees; and
- As may be required or permissible by law.
- Kumon, its employees, agents and franchisees all have access to your information. Some of your Personal Information may be disclosed overseas to Kumon Institute of Education Co., Ltd located in Japan and Kumon Australia. We refer to Information Privacy Principle 11 and Information Privacy Principle 12 of the Privacy Act 2020. You acknowledge that You have consented to the potential disclosure of your Personal Information to the overseas entities under Information Privacy Principle 11(c) and that any potential disclosure of your Personal Information is made in accordance with Information Privacy Principle 11(1)(a). You therefore acknowledge that we have complied with Information Privacy Principle 12(1) and we refer specifically to subclauses 12(1) (a), 12(1)(c) and 12(1)(e).
6. We may use your Personal Information to keep You informed of upcoming events and/or to offer You our products or services that we believe may interest You. If You do not want to receive such communications from us, please contact us.

In relation to our franchisees, we also require information such as company details, financial information including bank account and credit card details, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, weekly takings information, and other business-related information that may contain Personal Information.

In relation to our employees or prospective employees, we collect information such (but not limited to) as commencement dates, employment status, location, gender, bank account details, emergency contact details, qualifications, medical and health information, leave summaries, wages and salary information, date of birth, tax file numbers, where relevant visa and immigration information, information relating to performance and conduct.
9. Storage of Personal Information.
- We ensure that your Personal Information is kept security and we take all reasonable steps to protect all Personal Information from misuse, interference, loss unauthorised access or disclosure.
- We cannot provide a guarantee with respect to the security of your Personal Information and we will not be liable for any breach of security or unintended loss or disclosure of information.
10. Access to Personal Information
- You are entitled to see what Personal Information we hold, including if we hold any of your Personal Information and in particular:
- To seek confirmation for Kumon that we do hold Personal Information;
- To have access to that Personal Information; and
- If You believe that the Personal Information is not correct, You may request in writing that We correct the information.
- Please note that we may refuse to provide You access to the Personal Information as follows:
- Disclosing the information would disclose Personal Information about another individual;
- The request is frivolous or vexatious or the information request is trivial;
- The information is not readily retrievable;
- The information does not exist or cannot be found.
- We will inform You of the reason why within 5 days of receiving the disclosure request.
- For all other information privacy requests, including access and correction, please send your request to our New Zealand Privacy Officer by using the contact details at the end of this Privacy Policy.
- Kumon is committed to supporting and complying with the applicable Privacy Principles that set clear standards for the collection, access, storage, use and disclosure of personal information which we may obtain from You as part of our business operation. If there are changes to the Privacy Policy we will send an email to You advising that changes have been made and provide a link to the changed policy.

Fees & Charges
- The enrolment fee and the monthly tuition fee are not refundable in part or in full under any circumstances unless otherwise agreed by Kumon (Australia) Pty Ltd.
- All monthly tuition fees are payable in advance on a calendar month basis. For example, October’s monthly tuition fee is payable before the end of September.
- Kumon encourages continuous study. However, in the event that a child is unable to attend the centre the following month, notification must be given to the Instructor by the 15th of the current month. If notice is not given by the 15th of the current month, the full tuition fee for the following month is due and payable.
- If a child is absent from the centre for more than three months, , and does not resume and pay full fees in the fourth month, a re-enrolment fee is payable should I choose to re-enrol.
- If a child wants to transfer to another subject or centre, notice must be given to the Kumon Education Centre by the 15th of the current month. If such notice is not given, the monthly fee for the following month is payable.
- The Kumon Education Centre reserves its right to change its days of operation or close for a certain period of time due to public holidays or holiday periods (e.g. for a period up to 3 weeks over the Christmas/New Year period) and/or any unforeseeable event (e.g. an act of God). In such event, the Kumon Education Centre and/or Kumon (Australia) Pty Ltd will advise parents of such change as early as practicable through written and/or direct communication. No fees will be refundable given that worksheets will still be provided to the children during that closure period.
- In the event that the fees are not paid by the due date, Kumon has the right to charge all reasonable costs and disbursements incurred by Kumon to process or recover such fees.
KUMON CONNECT and screen time
For screen time, New Zealand Government guidelines recommend the following:
- Children younger than 2 years old: no screen time
- 2 years and older: no more than 1 hour per day.
For tablet usage, the World Health Organisation recommends the following:
- For children between 2-4 years old, up to 60 minutes of screen time per day.
Tablet study with KUMON CONNECT is within the above recommended limits.

Personal Data Protection Policy
This Personal Data Protection Policy (“Policy”) sets out the basis which Kumon Asia & Oceania Pte. Ltd. (“we”, “us”, or “our”) may collect, use, disclose or otherwise process personal data of our customers in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (“PDPA”). This Policy applies to personal data in our possession or under our control, including personal data in the possession of organisations which we have engaged to collect, use, disclose or process personal data for our purposes.
PERSONAL DATA
- As used in this Policy:“customer” means an individual who (a) has contacted us through any means to find out more about any goods or services we provide, or (b) may, or has, entered into a contract with us for the supply of any goods or services by us; and“personal data” means data, whether true or not, about a customer who can be identified: from that data; or (b) from that data and other information to which we have or are likely to have
- Depending on the nature of your interaction with us, some examples of personal data which we may collect from you include your name and identification information such as your NRIC number, contact information such as your address, email address or telephone number, nationality, gender, date of birth, marital status, photographs and other audio-visual information, employment information and financial information such as credit card numbers, debit card numbers or bank account
- Other terms used in this Policy shall have the meanings given to them in the PDPA (where the context so permits).
COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA
- We generally do not collect your personal data unless (a) it is provided to us voluntarily by you directly or via a third party who has been duly authorised by you to disclose your personal data to us (your “authorised representative”) after (i) you (or your authorised representative) have been notified of the purposes for which the data is collected, and (ii) you (or your authorised representative) have provided written consent to the collection and usage of your personal data for those purposes, or (b) collection and use of personal data without consent is permitted or required by the PDPA or other laws. We shall seek your consent before collecting any additional personal data and before using your personal data for a purpose which has not been notified to you (except where permitted or authorised by law).
- We may collect and use your personal data for any or all of the following purposes:
- performing obligations in the course of or in connection with our provision of the goods and/or services requested by you, including taking photo/video in class to analyze your child’s performance for the purpose of improving our instruction to him/her and maintaining the safety and security of our premises with the use of security cameras;
- verifying your identity;
- responding to, handling, and processing queries, requests, applications, complaints, and feedback from you;
- managing your relationship with us;
- processing payment or credit transactions;
- developing new services or products;
- sending you marketing information about our goods or services including notifying you of our marketing events, initiatives and promotions; facilitating service refinements via customer feedback survey, data analysis and market research;
- complying with any applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines, or rules, or to assist in law enforcement and investigations conducted by any governmental and/or regulatory authority;
- any other purposes for which you have provided the information;
- transmitting to any unaffiliated third parties including our third party service providers and agents, and relevant governmental and/or regulatory authorities, whether in Singapore or abroad, for the aforementioned purposes; and
- any other incidental business purposes related to or in connection with the

Those recipients may be located in or outside Singapore.
- The purposes listed in the above clauses may continue to apply even in situations where your relationship with us (for example, pursuant to a contract) has been terminated or altered in any way, for a reasonable period thereafter (including, where applicable, a period to enable us to enforce our rights under any contract with you).
WITHDRAWING YOUR CONSENT
- The consent that you provide for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data will remain valid until such time it is being withdrawn by you in You may withdraw consent and request us to stop using and/or disclosing your personal data for any or all of the purposes listed above by submitting your request in writing or via email to our Data Protection Officer at the contact details provided below.
- Upon receipt of your written request to withdraw your consent, we may require reasonable time (depending on the complexity of the request and its impact on our relationship with you) for your request to be processed and for us to notify you of the consequences of us acceding to the same, including any legal consequences which may affect your rights and liabilities to us. In general, we shall seek to process your request within ten (10) business days of receiving it.
- Whilst we respect your decision to withdraw your consent, please note that depending on the nature and scope of your request, we may not be in a position to continue providing our goods or services to you and we shall, in such circumstances, notify you before completing the processing of your request. Should you decide to cancel your withdrawal of consent, please inform us in writing in the manner described in clause 8 above.

ACCESS TO AND CORRECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
- If you wish to make (a) an access request for access to a copy of the personal data which we hold about you or information about the ways in which we use or disclose your personal data, or (b) a correction request to correct or update any of your personal data which we hold about you, you may submit your request in writing or via email to our Data Protection Officer at the contact details provided
