Kelly began Kumon in Year 6, mainly to strengthen her maths and English. At first, she found it challenging to adjust to the routine of daily study. However, over time, she became more confident and consistent in her learning, and now feels much more independent in her work.
Kelly’s growing confidence has also helped her at school. In maths, she says she can solve problems more quickly and accurately. In English, her reading and comprehension have improved. As she has already practised similar skills through Kumon, Kelly finds some schoolwork easier to approach.
“Kumon has helped me in school,” Kelly says. “In maths, I can solve problems more quickly and more accurately. In English, my reading and comprehension have improved.”
Moving up levels and challenging herself also gives Kelly a sense of achievement and encourages her to keep going.
“I’m motivated to continue Kumon because I can see my progress over time,” she says. “It feels rewarding to move up levels and challenge myself.”
Behind Kelly’s progress is a strong support system. Her parents have encouraged her to manage her time well, while her Kumon centre helps guide her when she feels stuck. Trapti.

Outside of academics, Kelly enjoys a busy and well-rounded life. In her free time, Kelly takes part in cheerleading, baking, violin and origami, balancing her academics with other interests and allowing her to develop different skills.
Looking ahead, Kelly wants to continue improving in both maths and English, and reach higher levels in Kumon. She wants become a vet because she enjoys working with animals and helping them.
“I know that this takes lots of study and discipline, so I think the skills I’m building now will help me reach that goal,” Kelly says. “My current learning in Kumon will benefit me because it teaches me how to work independently and to handle challenges with a positive mindset.”
